I can provide the following types of training programs, tailored to meet the needs of individual clients:

  • Sexual Harassment Prevention Trainingthis program can be a half day or whole day session. Students will learn about the law, why sexual harassment happens, the organization’s policy on sexual harassment and how to recognize appropriate and inappropriate behaviors in the work place. I use a variety of methods including lecture, videotapes, small group exercises, class discussion and written tests to present the information and ensure that the information is understood. Training can be tailored to individual needs. For example, training can be provided to teach women employees how to appropriately respond to sexual harassment.

  • Sexual Harassment Investigation Training this one to two-day program teaches students how to appropriately investigate sexual harassment. Students will learn all of the information in the Sexual Harassment Prevention class. In addition, they will learn how to interview victims, witnesses and suspects, how to document hostile work environment issues, how to recognize retaliation and how to write accurate and informative reports. I use a variety of methods including lecture, videotapes, small group exercises, class discussion and written tests to present the information and ensure that the information is understood. Training can be tailored to individual needs. For example, police investigators will be taught about the legal rights of police officers who are suspects.

  • Supervisor/Manager Sexual Harassment Prevention Training this two to three day program teaches supervisors and managers all of the information from the Sexual Harassment Prevention class. In addition, it provides information about the responsibility of supervisors and mangers to maintain a non-hostile workplace and to take action to prevent or stop sexual harassment. Retaliation is heavily emphasized. Students will learn how to recognize, prevent and respond to retaliation. Investigation and reporting will also be covered. The trainers use a variety of methods including lecture, videotapes, small group exercises, class discussion and written tests to present the information and ensure that the information is understood. Training can be tailored to individual needs. For example, supervisors and managers in law enforcement agencies will learn about women in non-traditional jobs and the gender issues that arise.

  • Prevention of Discrimination in the Workplace this one day program teaches students about discrimination law, why discrimination occurs, the organization’s policy on discrimination and how to recognize appropriate and inappropriate behaviors in the work place.  I use a variety of methods including lecture, videotapes, small group exercises, class discussion and written tests to present the information and ensure that the information is understood. Training can be tailored to individual needs. For example, if age discrimination is a special issue in the organization, the training will emphasize age issues.
  • Discrimination Investigation Training this two to three-day program teaches students how to appropriately investigate all forms of discrimination. Students will learn all of the information in the Prevention of Discrimination in the Workplace class. In addition, they will learn how to interview victims, witnesses and suspects, how to document hostile work environment issues, how to recognize retaliation and how to write accurate and informative reports. I use a variety of methods including lecture, videotapes, small group exercises, class discussion and written tests to present the information and ensure that the information is understood. For example, supervisors and managers in a workplace just beginning to integrate members of a certain minority group will learn about how to facilitate their acceptance and prevent discrimination.
