ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Assessor – Certified Assessor and Trainer for the National Center for Women and Policing on Women’s Issues in Law Enforcement, including the areas of recruitment, training and retention. Have been a speaker at the National Center for Women and Policing conferences on gender issues in law enforcement. Have participated in training seminars on recruitment and retention of women in law enforcement.

Assessor Experience – Certified Assessor and Team Leader for the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. since 1995. Have participated in 12 on-site assessments in eleven states, 9 as Team Leader. Agencies have included municipal and federal departments.

Certified Assessor and Team Leader for the Chesapeake Region Law Enforcement Accreditation Alliance since 1994. Have participated in numerous mock assessments in the Chesapeake Region, which includes Maryland, Delaware and the District of Columbia. Agencies have included federal, county and municipal departments.

Promotional Board Assessor. Have participated as an assessor for the ranks of sergeant Lieutenant and Captain at various federal, county and municipal law enforcement agencies since 1984. Agencies include the United States Secret Service, Uniformed Division, Montgomery, Alabama, Montgomery, Howard and Prince George’s Counties (Maryland), Baltimore City (Maryland), Easton and Gaithersburg (Maryland).

Have monitored, organized and administered the promotional process at the Annapolis Police Department since 1988 for all ranks, Officer First Class, Corporal, Sergeant and Lieutenant and the assessment process for the rank of Captain. Have trained assessors for these processes.

Have trained assessors for entry-level interviews at the Annapolis Police Department since 1994.

Currently enrolled in Ph.D. program in Organization and Management. Courses taken at this level include: Gender and Diversity Issues, Training and Development, Human Resource Management, Personnel Testing, selection and Evaluation, Training and Development and Organizational Behavior. My proposed dissertation topic will relate to the role and experience of women in law enforcement particularly in the last three decades.
